I AM TIRED.
Welcome to July!
It has been a while since I sat down to write a blog.
I needed a break.
After writing the last blog post (INVEST IN YOURSELF) I was speaking to myself. I had to take some time out for myself. The blogs I write is a true reflection of how I feel and what I am going through ( UNFILTERED)
You know when you’re always that friend or person who always gives out advice and, the voice of reason it can get draining.
I love writing blogs. I love speaking to young people about my journey and giving them advice. But for a long time, I felt very guilty for wanting a break.
In June, I felt very worn out and to be honest I was tired. I had a lot of ideas and wanted to do so many things but, I couldn’t find the strength or drive to accomplish it.
Then I told myself...I want a break.
I NEED a break.
I’m tired.
In times like this, you must surround yourself with like-minded people. I found that once I started sharing and asking for advice from other young professionals who had experienced it or something similar they were able to advise and keep me encouraged.
I suddenly didn't feel alone. I was able to see past how I felt and started strategising my next move.
I went away on a Christian retreat in wales. (OGGM)
I used it as an opportunity to find my inner peace. I was able to pray, talk to other young professionals and have some time to reprogramme my mind.
So what is today’s blog about?
I don’t want you to feel guilty about taking a break.
At the start of the year, there is always so much drive and energy to accomplish our goals but, I find that towards the sixth month and upwards it’s harder to keep that passion burning.
The only way to ensure that you’re working towards that goal is to stop, analyse how far you’ve come and that all your plans forward are leading you towards that end goal.
You need a break
You need to reprogramme
You need to get charged up!
What will I be doing?
Since I have been back from my retreat I have decided to create a routine and, I plan to stick to it till the end of the year. Keeping myself in a routine will ensure a more productive day. It will also help me to analyse my days based on my productivity level.
I have also decided that I need to get someone else on board to help me so I don’t feel so drained.
I hope this blog helps you to understand that though I give advice and encourage others I am still human. I do have needs and also feel stagnant like everyone else. But the difference is I try to position myself in a place where I can be inspired and stay focused.
