The importance of networking (5 part series)

Why should I network? (Part 1)

Networking is a very key factor that you should develop the skill of doing. Professional networking becomes very important when looking for a job and trying to establish an ongoing career development.
Career networking is all about making use of all your contacts to get information, support, jobs or work experiences and opportunities. (LINKEDIN)

Is networking worth it?

Did you know? …
Over 60% of jobs are never openly advertised. It has been proven that successful job seekers claimed professional networking made the difference in their job search.

How do I professionally network?

Networking is all about building relationships that will be valuable for you. This could be in your career or future business goals.  Networking is all about getting connected. Regardless of how gifted and talented you are you are unlikely to get to where you want to be in your career or business without help.

Benefits of networking

By networking you will:

•    Develop relationships with direct and future opportunities
•    It can be permanent. – Linked In is a professional platform where you can connect and link with contacts as a way of increasing your chances to network and come across great opportunities.
•    Build your self-confidence
•    Create an identity – learning how to brand yourself on the market

How will my life change if I network?

Networking can be the difference between:

•    A change in career
•    A hidden vacancy
•    Getting a job
•    Creating your dream career.
Networking can open doors and change your life. It only takes one right move and connection for your life to change. Being able to send your CV to an actual email address rather than an “info@” could be the difference in getting your dream job.  Having the right contacts can help put your skills on the right path. You can also gain advice, for example, if you contact a company asking them for a feedback because you didn’t get a job this advice could help you develop in a skill you are lacking for your chosen career.

It's time we build our network.
